About This Site
Hi, welcome to my site & personal blog "Mizumiya"
The origin of the name is derived from Yume 2kki & the Water Fountain world, which happens to be one of my favorite areas. The original name of this blog was 噴妖精水宮, alternatively meaning "Fountain Fairy Water Palace," also inspired by 2kki. After a while of thinking on it, I decided to shorten it to just Water Palace, and I'll probably keep it like that. I contemplated changing my URL as well, but in all honesty I just like it, and I don't know if I want to sit there and figure out how to do a redirect just yet.
Here are my past buttons for archival reasons:
I don't really have a manifesto or anything like that for this site. I simply made a site because I wanted to. I legitimately got fed up with the way that other sites were running their stuff, said "Wait, I used to run a site back in the day anyways. I'll go do that again." And then I did it. I don't have an ultimate goal with my website aside from making it feel "complete" with all the content I'd personally like to host. It mostly exists so I don't have to use social media or specific websites that I honestly got sick of most of the userbase for (Unfortunately, MFC & MAL, I'm looking at you.) Between disliking what most communities or "fandom" has devolved into these days and not wanting to take part in that kind of stuff, and being able to code my own pages where I can keep track of and put detailed opinions relating to media I've consumed over the years, I figured it was best to just host it all personally rather than joining 500 tracker websites that are just going to go unused anyways. That, and I find coding to be interesting.
I'm really not sure what to put here when it comes to site info past the fact that all of my opinions are my own. Sometimes they can be strongly worded, and there's some mild swearing here or there, but for the most part I'd say my site is tame. I don't think there's anything downright hateful on this site. At worst you'll hear me complain that people are bad at FF14. Not that it means anything past venting frustrations because I am also bad at FF14.
Anyways, what I'm mainly saying is that this is a blog based around my interests. Expect a lot of anime & gaming related topics. Also expect the occasional blog entry about whatevers on my mind. I don't really tend to try to cater anything to anyone but myself, but I don't mind a suggestion here and there. I'll probably expand the scope of the things I put on this blog at some point, but who knows when I'll get to that. I apologize when I get severely sidetracked from my goals. I have ADHD and possibly undiagnosed autism. It takes me a while to get to everything, and learning to forgive myself for not making my goals can be a bit hard, but it's a learning process. I apologize if a piece of content that is planned that you're looking forward to takes some time before it's online. I just get sidetracked a lot.
Oh, and if you've noticed that certain sections between version 3 & 4 have been flat out removed or condensed: Yeah sorry, I wanted everything to be easier to read. I'm eventually planning on putting a lot more things up all at once, where everything either gets worded a bit better, has the HTML cleaned up, or god knows what. So uh yeah, expect things to go back online soon enough. I'd say for what I had initially planned vs what got cut down to be done with this site within a decent enough time is around... IDK, 50% done? You'll see more soon. Eventually. I hope. Once I get the media logs cleaned up, I'll move on to other things.
I suppose that's really all I can say in regards to running this site. I just made it because I can.
Disclaimers, Technical, Accessibility, etc
This site was coded by me in Notepad++. The assets used such as the pixel art backgrounds are screencaps from Yume 2kki, specifically from Mint Town. They were all screencaps taken by me & edited by me as well. The original author for this area is Moriwo. The header image is Gardevoir (サーナイト) from Pokemon. This particular illustration is from the TCG Expansion "Paldean Fates" and is a Special Illustration Rare Ex.
You're free to look at my HTML, CSS, Javascript if you desire. It's poorly written, but you're still free to attempt to learn from it. You are also free to go take from my premade layouts if looking at it gives you a headache and you want to have a similar look to any of my previous designs. If the current look of my site hasn't been uploaded as a premade layout for you to mess around with, it will be added in time. It's just a matter of me getting around to doing it. Any assets on my website with the exceptions of things that I have personally made with some sort name for my site are free to use with the exception of my artwork. If it's an icon, a stamp, etc, go ahead and take it. I'm fine with things I made being taken, and I'm fine with things I found being taken. If you want a version that is higher resolution, feel free to just ask. If I still have it, I'll give it. I don't believe in hoarding webgraphics, whether I've made them or not. They exist to be used, after all. I don't require links back to things I've made, but it's always appreciated.
Do not repost my art on any website, original or edited. The sole exception to this rule is if you personally commissioned a piece of artwork from me. Only then are you are allowed to repost on social media only. I'm fine with people using my art as profile pictures for things like chat clients or social media accounts, but please just link back to my website (Putting "pfp/ava/i:ordainedmotion.neocities.org" is completely fine.) Just don't add to reposting sites like any sort of Booru, Zerochan, and so forth. My artwork gets barely attention as is so seeing it put other places is just disheartening. Do not use my artwork for generative AI training. Do not use my artwork for any sort of printing service that keeps designs as they assume you have the "rights" to be using that artwork and I don't consent.
It should go without saying, but please don't reupload any of my pages. If you are not viewing this website through the url OrdainedMotion.neocities.org, then it is not my website. I have not consented to have my site mirrored to any other host. Archival websites are an exception to this as they are meant to archive multiple websites, but if it is a website claiming to be me and it doesn't have my URL, then it is not me.
Needless to say, all opinions here are my own and are not reflective of any other person I associate with. Everything posted here is for non-profit reasons and is solely a fan creation. No copyright infringement is intended. I am literally a person on the internet taking pictures of merchandise that I have purchased & media I have consumed over the years and giving my unique perspective on them. My content should be considered as reviews and therefore derivative work. I own no part of the IPs reflected here, nor am I sponsored by any company to write the reviews that I am providing, I am just a fan.
This website has been tested in the following browsers:
- Microsoft Edge
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Opera GX
This website has been checked for valid HTML using The W3c Markup Validation Service and has Valid HTML. (A few items were not changed due to minor cosmetic reasons or because they have been left empty for Javascript.) My CSS has been checked and minified using Toptal's CSS Minifier.
This site is a work in progress when it comes to Accessibility. The amount of gifs on screen have been minimized to only a few. All grammar has been corrected to the best of my ability. All images have been given an alt tag to describe the image, with the exception of decorative images which have been left blank. This website has been coded to the best of my ability to be keyboard friendly and not require a mouse to interact with most elements. There is no justify text alignment. Semantic HTML has been used to the best of my ability. All areas with large amount of flashing gifs have been hidden with Summary and Details tags. Some pages, however, are still a work in progress. I have attempted to up the contrast and chose a more legible font, but I'm unsure if I should go with a different choice currently. I suppose input would be needed on that, but that's a problem for future me (when I start going back to the previous layout oops)
I have finally made a responsive layout to the best of my current ability. It's also not the best, but it's a start. I'm sure there's ways I can improve it, but last year I said it was a goal of mine to sit down and work on it, and I did. If there's still issues, feel free to let me know. I know some areas are very compact but I am trying to generally make it better. I expect this layout will be changed and improved upon in the future.
Bigotry & Hate speech have no place on this site. If somehow, anything that I post is misinformed or seems to be from a bad faith actor, you are welcome to tell me and I will remove it as soon as possible. Hate messages sent through Cbox & Atabook have both their email and IPs logged. Any hate messages will be removed and will be IP banned.
Bigots WILL be blocked on Neocities (account side). Using "free speech" as a shield for supporting bigotry will also get you blocked. I don't wish to be associated with these types. Freedom of Speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences. If you act like a bigot, I'm going to assume you're a bigot, especially if you double down.

v.33rd layout for my site. I wont lie, this one has been my favorite so far, but at the same time one of the biggest hurdles I had with it was trying to make it mobile compatible. So, in favor of accessibility, for right now I decided to leave it behind for a short while. I'll eventually go back to something similar though, because I do really like it. |

v.2The second layout for my site, where I integrated the blog into the main part of the site. Doing this was a challenge and finally getting everything to work was one hell of an effort. It was put together very sloppily though, so I eventually wanted to change it. I did like its vibe, but after a while I felt it was incredibly hard to read, so I ended up aiming to make a new layout. But I really liked it, for the most part. It was just such a mess. |

v.1The first layout for my site. This one had like separate everything and was made with iframes. Most times, iframes are kind of a mixed bag. On one hand, they get things done incredibly well and make updating content super easy. On the other hand, if you rely too much on frames, it becomes a mess. Especially when you're like me, and you haven't made a layout in ages. Well, either way, I did move past this mess of a layout for a good reason. I do plan on remaking a better one with just iframes at a later point though, so I guess there's that. |

150 Followers SpecialConsidering the fact that I didn't do anything for my previous followers milestone (which was the original 100 followers), I did a small questionaire based on questions from comments, emails, and discord dms. Nothing too exciting, but I suppose it's worth putting here for anyone who wishes to read it at any point. I suppose if I do another one of these, I'll try to aim for 251 next time. Before you say "Well, the original Pokedex number was 151 for Gen 1" yeah, I know. It was just a shock to see 100, and even 150, and even numbers go higher than that while I made the article. Honestly, maybe I should jokingly name it to the 151 followers special, lol. |

Mizumiya 1 Year AnniversaryAnother article having to do with the site. This time, I just rattled off some of the stats. If you're wondering why numbers might look a bit inconsistent with what's actually hosted on my web server, just know that I work on my website from a directory on my PC, and things don't sync 1:1 when I finally upload it. I say this because I realized the discrepancy between edited pictures publicly available in reviews at the time didn't match everything I have onhand. Excuses aside, I will be repeating this one next year as well. |

Webmaster 100 Questions QuestionaireI did this on a whim, because a bunch of other people were doing it. I think people shouldd do it too. Because why not? It could be fun... Well, it's also a bit tiring, but what's a bit of suffering for your site? |
