Y'know, it feels weird to come to everyone with yet another entry that has nothing to do with what I'm supposed to be doing. Or the many things I planned to do. Though, to be fair, when do I ever get the things I need to do done on time when they aren't paid? Never. Sorry. I promise I'll be less of a flaky webmaster, but I like to think of my site as a never ending work in progress. If I ever finish, that'll be a sad day. Because it means I ran out of things to blog about. But considering how many anime figures exist, I don't know if I'll run out of things to talk on. Because even if I don't own them, I sure like to look.
That leads me into the topic. Once again, it's anime figures. Originally for this weekend, the plan was to finally get the XIV MSQ done, write a little bit about that, and then maybe do things like my XIV house tour like I originally wanted to, as well as do a figure review or two (or at least get the photos for them done.)
Considering this is a loot blog, I'm sure you can tell that neither of those things happened. What happened this weekend then, you ask?
Got my ass beat by my own uterus. Pretend this is a bed.
Anyways, before I get sidetracked talking about YGO, let's talk about stuff that isn't YGO. And moreso related to the site before I really get into it (Not that there's a lot to get into, it's just merch.)
So my preorders for March finally came in. I'll eventually do reviews of these, but I probably won't for a while. Mostly because I don't know where to go next for my reviews. The poll in my updates section is very spread out and only has 5 responses (Which I'm grateful for, don't think I'm not.) And then there's the fact that when I asked friends to give me a response, every single person who answered gave me a different response. And the answers were a mix of quite literally everything. So, I suppose I'll aim to do 3 photoshoots at once some time this week and give you all 1 prize figure, 1 scale figure, and 1 Yugioh figure, because there's 2 votes for Yugioh. And I promise that I don't have the Yugioh tag for funsies. I will actually talk about Yugioh. I swear.
Anyways, I did start getting a lot more of the sources for things I have floating around, and definitely cleaned up the Toybox page a lot better. For one, all the dead files are no longer there. Hell, I just nuked the folder entirely and decided to start over in a sense. At one point, I'll probably rename all the files because it's a mess to read through the code when I start adding in sources, but that's just going to be something that gets done over time.
Started working on a set of stamps. I'll put them all up later, since they're all related to my about section. Yeah, I decided the best way to post my favorite things was to make a wall of stamps and then probably either have a page with my feeling on my favorites that each one links to, or in some stuff's cases, probably have an entire page about them. Otherwise some characters will get a small blurb while things like Yume 2kki, Touhou, Pokemon, Evangelion, and Seto Kaiba will have entire essays dedicated to them.
Here's a preview
Sturm & Drang from Granblue Fantasy
I decided on using a template instead of drawing my own because uhhhh... Drawing can be hard and I also didn't want them to all just end up being like my buttons. But I might make a template like that at some point too, because it also sounds neat. IDK. I'm indecisive. I'll be making a bunch more of them. You can take them and do whatever, like all of my graphics, because I really don't care if people use what I make. Just don't hotlink it. If you want any stamps, I'll make them. Because they're not hard to make. And I like sometimes making a bunch of other things that I wouldn't have picked for myself. Expect certain characters to get a lot though, because I can. I might make ship ones too but like whatever. Anyways, I'm talking too much about this lol.
Other than that, I'll probably do more anilogs, gamelogs, etc. Gonna see if I can get friends to watch a few Pokemon movies with me next weekend or something. That should be fun.
With that said, let's talk about the loot I got.
I feel like with the fact that there's 7 pictures with quite a few items makes it look like I got much more than I did. But I ended up with a single can badge, a few acrylic stands, and a few figures. Most of this stuff was preordered back during September or so. I didn't expect them all to come within 2 days of one another, but they did. I think at this point, I have 1 more thing I have to pay for that I preordered, but by the time it gets here, it'll probably already be April.
First things first, I'm sure you all recognize this art. It's the 2nd Sanrio x Yugioh collab. I love it. Only the Kaiba one belongs to me, and the other 2 are friends' stuff. I'll make sure to mail them soon. Though, I ended up keeping the post cards. I'll scan them at some point. Probably when I do the rest of my scans.
Here's the stuff I got from GSC. Because they won't let you cancel. Oh well, it's not like I didn't want them when I went to preorder, so I'm glad that I got them, I just wish I didn't have to go through their sites. Either way, Little Missing Stars Miku is very cute. I love the twintails, but I won't lie, I wish they were detatchable. The base is large and awkward too. I didn't mind it on my first Pop Up but now I'm just like, idk, tired of their bases. Unfortunately, there's still a few Pop Ups I ordered and generally want, so I guess I'll just have to deal with them. At least Frieren's base is smaller.
Next to her is Haru from ZOOL. I'm really happy I picked him up. It's been a while since I bought anything IDOLiSH7, but he's the only Nendoroid of the ZOOL boys I really wanted to preorder. I'll get the other 3 at a later point. Hopefully by that time, they don't do more of them, considering i7 is getting a new anime season soon.
Another split, as well as some of the acrylics I got. Yeah, unfortunately I have a lot of these still. I narrowed it down to the last group of them that I want to buy, so I probably won't be getting any more in the near future, unless it's a design I really want or a character I absolutely love that has no merch. Which means the collection of acrylics will probably only be related to stuff like GBF & XIV (Yes, I know it has figures, but they're not very good and incredibly overpriced.) And unfortunately still probably Kaiba from time to time. But I've massively trimmed the list of those that I wanted down to 10. Which sounds insane, now that I think about it.
Well, I guess I'll talk about the Re-ment figures instead.
So, I won't lie, I'm kind of dissatisfied with these. Why? Because the quality check feels like it was just not there. I dunno if I got unlucky or if most of them are in this poor of a state, because I had defects on the 2 I got. I didn't even take pictures of the stray paint on Jounouchi's face. I just immediately scraped it off. And I don't think I did a very good job. Even though it's not visible in the image, if you look at him in the light at the right angle, you can totally see where it's scraped. After doing that, I didn't want to mess with Kaiba, so for now I'm just sitting here like "Guess he has white marks on his hair."
Like, I know they're trading figures, and at the end of the day we paid somewhere around 7 USD for each of them, but it sucks when they're that much of a mess. I have plenty of trading figures and know what to expect, and I definitely don't tend to expect perfection. I just feel like paint transfer on very noticeable parts of the figure is where I'm just like "Bruh."
Above is a quick comparison between the previous Re-ment set and this one. Like, the first one isn't perfect, and I know it's technically not a figure, it's supposed to be like a sticky note holder, but it's still so much better in terms of quality.
I decided to take a comparison shot to show a few friends the size comparison of the latest COSPA stand and the Pop Up Miku and as you can see (maybe), he's way taller than her. Insane how big some of these are. I suppose that's why they always end up being so expensive. I never used to collect such big stands. Honestly, the biggest one I used to have in the past was the SQEX Crystal Exarch one, but now the largest stands I have are all of Kaiba.
I'm not sure why this ended up in my set of images for this but here's a shot of my desk and the sheer amount of stuff surrounding it now. 2 of the stands were from this haul, so there's that. Also yes, I have a lot of stuff going on with my desktop, lol.
Either way, that's it for now. I have to go finish altering the code of a bunch of pages because I decided to join a ton of cliques all at once. Well, that and I get to keep an eye on my harddrive's remaining space while I download a massive set of Touhou music that immediately needs to go on an external for whenever I need it. And then I get to seek out the rest of my Doujin music that isn't related to Touhou. Yippie.
Bye for now, and pray for my SSD.
