Yume 2kki Play Log

Honestly, for the longest time I've kind of debated how I wanted to bring this playlog back on my page. I had like several pages worth of entries on my time in 2kki and I was unsure of how to do updated coding related to this. So I just let it sit. And when I let it sit, I also had a bunch of newer screencaps that piled up as well that hadn't been added in.

Anyways, I'm still kind of at a loss on how I should handle this page, but for now it's just the old material being pasted in and reformatted. I love Yume 2kki. I miss talking about Yume 2kki. So have this page dedicated to my past playlogs. I hope that I can go back soon. Theres a lot more badges I want to get. Places I want to see. I want to go everywhere in 2kki one day. But I think it will be some time before I can do that.

Sorry if it's a giant mess is essentially what I'm trying to say. Oh well. lol. I guess most of my site is a mess in a way. Sorry that formatting sucks, but like, float was just not working for this page without causing major issues with reading the damn blog. So I took it out. I suppose the issue here is the size of the caps. But it's whatever. Better to be readable, I suppose.

Urotsuki's Dream Balcony

Anyways, I wanted to finally talk about this game, because not only am I currently playing it for the upteenth time, but it's a game I like a lot. That, and I wanted to pick a game I'm really passionate about. Admittedly, my last 2 play logs are kinda more "this is what I've been playing here's a wall of pictures," and that's it. I'm hoping to maybe change that. But yeah anyways, 2kki. Yeah. We're talking about Yume 2kki. If you checked out my last playlog, you'll probably have seen the description of Yume Nikki and what it is. This is basically essentially the same, but a fan made sequel to Yume Nikki. Yume Nikki has a lot of fan made games based around its core concept, and I've played my fair share of the earlier ones. Most of them, I've admittedly set down before I even finished. But to me, Yume 2kki stands out the most of all the fangames. Not because it's a sequel, but because it's a collaborative project that's still being updated to this day.

With this blog I'll be posting spoilers. Mostly because there's so much of 2kki to see. This game has 2000 maps or so, and tons of contributing authors, tons of effects, tons of other collectibles, and usually boasts an average of 130+ people logged in and talking on YNO most days. Basically, its the big one, and I feel like when it comes to "spoilers," they're a bit unavoidable if you want to talk about any of these games. Hell, the reason my YN log feels so bland is precisely because I tried to post no spoilers, thus making it be nothing more than vague descriptions, which I just don't want to do here.

I will say, of all the YN fangames, 2kki is my absolute favorite. I've heard some people say 2kki's massive amount of contributors make the experience far less curated than other games, and that makes for tonal whiplash considering the size of the project. But I feel like it encompasses what dreams really are like. Honestly, when i've been at some of my lowest points in life, my dreams weren't good at all. But there's more to life (and dreams) than just your worst days. And your dreams (hopefully) aren't always going to be bad. That's the vibe 2kki has.

I'm not going to put all my stuff for 2kki in one journal, now that I realize it. Because if I do, it'll be going forever. I do have a decent share of screencaps, even if it's not many. IDK, I kinda usually remember my experiences with 2kki a bit more vividly. I guess it's just that game for me.

Well, that and like I said, I didn't wanna spoil YN for anyone who hasn't played yet, so I just opted not to talk in depth. IDK maybe I'll do another playthrough, take way more pictures, and drag some friends with me when I do so. Friends who haven't played it at all as well.

Tomb of Velleities: Lunar Sanctuary

I first became aware of YNO back around March and didn't do a whole lot in it. I think I started a file and went off to get the effects right away, but immediately got sidetracked while convincing a friend to check this game out. I'm one of those people who's really guilty of constantly checking discord so a lot of times when I play regular 2kki, when it's downloaded on my pc, I tend to leave it open. Especially when I find nice areas with good music. but yeah I got a friend in on it. while doing that I learned about YNO's expedition feature and ended up at my first ever visit of Tomb of Velleities. I think the goal was to go to Verdant Promenade and I just kept going. For a while, it was one of the deepest places in the game, but it's been surpassed quite a few times. Either way, it's worth the visit. Very pretty here.

Seaside Road

While doing nothing in particular, I ended up at Seaside Road. Was kind of neat to see another player there, just vibing. I think they were AFK, because they didn't really say anything, but who knows. I also am not the type to really talk on YNO. Still, it was neat to run into someone else out here. Maybe they do the same thing I do, and like to have 2kki on for the music. Wouldn't surprise me if they did. If 2kki's known for anything, it definitely seems to be the music.

While editing this later, I thought I'd include this information: All the music tracks in the player for this blog are from Yume 2kki. So if you've never played it and want to get an idea of the OST, just go check out my music player.

Bottom Garden House

This one's from one of the houses in Bottom Garden.

I think I actually took this on a 2nd trip to Tomb? I used the same path because it was hard enough. I might have been looking for a vending machine that I was convinced was in one of the areas on the way, and then ended up being totally wrong because I never ended up finding it. Oh well. It got me to explore the areas around here more. Sometimes when I'm aiming to find a specific place, I don't stop to explore, because I get super distracted. Probably not the best way to play 2kki, but considering I've played for so long and I'm pretty sure I've gotten a few endings, using the wiki to find my way around doesn't super bother me. After all, I'm one of those people always aiming to see what's new, and there's almost always something new.

Forest Pier

For some reason, the file name & even location on YNO's saved screencap viewer says unknown location. So due to that, I don't exactly remember the name. But I do remember it was a really big maze like area with a big lake with quite a few events. And I think you had to have specific effects. I remember staying in this place for a really long time, and going up to a mansion like area and going into the basement there, and then struggling to get back to where I once was. Also something about a tree? It's been quite a long time. March was months ago, after all.

Edit: The area's name is Forest Pier.

Butterfly Passage

It's ironic to be writing a blog where I describe 2kki locations in depth, see a screencap of Butterfly Passage, and just go "yep, that sure is the butterfly passage." I do not recall anything remotely interesting about said place whatsoever. But I suppose, outside of the visuals, there's really nothing to say about Butterfly Passage. Nothing interesting happens here. I don't remember any notable music. And it's literally in the name, it's just a passage. It's a pretty passage, sure, but it's just a passage. After all, when's the last time you've ever heard someone go "let's go on an expedition to the Butterfly Passage." No one. Never. Unless it was a goal for an expedition to get to there, then maybe. But yeah, nobody's saying that. Make up a guy who likes the Butterfly Passage is legit a "make up a guy" tweet. Trust me, I looked on that twitter, and there it was. A whole made up guy.

Flying Fish World: Urotsuki's Dream Scene

Flying Fish World is another one of those worlds that you just don't really see talked about too much these days. I mean, there's nothing offensive here. It's actually pretty neat. I like the vibe. It's not exciting but idk, It's a hell of a lot better than Butterfly Passage, simply due to the fact that it's pretty memorable for an older location. I mean, Smile-san lives here after all. Anyways, this is one of the scenes of a completely different room, because I didn't take a screencap of Smile-san (not like I can't go do that with my current playthroughs because I never back up my YNO saves and am constantly having to start over). Anyways, this is Urotsuki's Dream Scene. It's an event (if you can even really call it an event) everyone's seen by now, but like, IDK. It's just nice.

Mansion Terrace

So, I think I labeled my screencaps out of order, but that doesn't particularly bother me. Anyways, from earlier when I was in Forest Pier? This is from that same visit. The mansion this time. This screencap is from the terrace. I remember spending a decent amount of time just vibing and talking to a friend in party chat, because we were bored. I think she was supposed to come over here, but she was going wikiless because it was her first time, so she didn't end up making it. At some point I not only wanted to continue exploring but I eventually needed to get to bed, and it was already pretty late (probably 4 am knowing me) and i was tired, so I ended up just sitting there for a long while. I don't remember if the music was good though.

Mansion Room

But I guess I was also hooked on seeing a first time experience with a YN game, so I was generally really interested. Oh well. That's the fun of YNO.

Anyways, to continue on, this screencap is also from the same Mansion. This trip was pretty long, and as I detailed in the previous section, I remember getting lost and confused while exploring some of the areas. Still, I ended up in this little room. and honestly it's pretty neat. I love finding little rooms in 2kki. It makes the dreamworld feel very alive & really adds a sense of wonder to it all. I really like it when games give off that feeling. I suppose that's what makes them memorable. Keeps people like me yapping about them for decades, I suppose.

Edit: The Mansion is further along in the route from Forest Pier. I don't know why in this journal I had assumed it was before. Probably mixing my routes up.

Submerged Communications Connection

So, this is the last part of this blog I'm going to write for now, because it ends off my March pictures. I have a few from April, but it's a pretty small amount. Then skip forward to November into the beginning of December for the next batch of screencaps because I think I either forgot to save a few captures while I was playing, or I saved them through screengrab programs and lost them in Discord Chats. Oops.

Anyways this is from Submerged Communications. The area itself is pretty dreary, but this is the 1 way connection area to Bleeding Heads Garden. What a fun place... The tonal whiplash in 2kki is indeed real at times, but I suppose it's just "Little 2kki Things" at this point. Either way, this one area is really pretty and I couldn't help but take a screencap. Glad I did, because I would have never remembered that this place existed if it wasn't for the picture.

But yeah, that wraps up some of my time I've spent in 2kki over this year so far. I don't talk a lot on YNO but I do lurk a decent amount of time. So I guess if anyone ever wants to play, I go by VanjiLost there. I'd put my badges but I don't wanna get too distracted by logging in to get them. After all, I have more things to work on.

Dec 19, 2024

Hello everyone. Once again, it's time for another Yume 2kki blog. I'm continuing off where I left off last, which is based off some screencaps I had from April, before hopping far far ahead and tackling stuff left over from November heading to December. I'll have some more to cover after that, because I picked up playing 2kki again mid month and have a lot of screencaps from this recent playthrough as well. But for now, let's move on to the bulk of the blog.

Kind of amazing that I have 17 whole images to go through this time. Last time it was just 9. Well, I hope you like a fairly long read. And by fairly long read I mean "have a wall of text."

4/01/24-4/10-24

Broken City

So, I don't have much for screencaps from when I was playing in April. I'm assuming I either took them and forgot to save them, eventually clearing them on my account to make space for others I liked more (as I tend to do quite often). Or I just... probably didn't take any. It's most likely that, to be honest. Like I've said, this is far from my first time playing 2kki. Hell, I'd say it's my most revisted game that isn't an MMO or part of the Pokemon franchise.

Anyways, this screencap is from the Broken City. I've gone here several times before, and I've always liked the very somber music playing. However, now that I think about it, I've never done the event here. Maybe at some point, I should go back through and finally do it. It'd be cool to do that rather than just get here and either have to wake up, or alternatively, turn around. But I always tend to be lazy on newer playthroughs because half the time these days, I never pick up all my effects. I just walk around and go wherever. So, it'll be one of the places to visit on my To-Do list. As if that list isn't already miles long, as is.

Blossoming Wonderland

Blossoming Wonderland is another place I just happened to go and wander around aimlessly in. I don't think there's much to do here. At the time of going, it was one of the newer worlds added, being from right after the New Year. It's really cute, even if there wasn't a whole lot when I visited. I'm just kind of indifferent about it. Not bad, but nothing special either.

Truth be told, I think the reason I even took a picture here was because I saw a sunflower, and it reminded me of my grandma. She really likes sunflowers.

11/25/24-11/29/24

Boogie Street Boogie Street Apartment

Honestly, around this point the game had gone through several updates, and I returned not long after the entire hacking incident, mostly because this game is just relaxing to me. That, and it's one of the few games that works with the current toaster I'm playing on. (Honestly, I doubt this thing could even run something like Maplestory or Mabinogi at this rate.) Because I'm bad at keeping track of my YNO save files, I was starting over. It wasn't any big deal to me though. I've started over several times with 2kki in the past, so this was just normal for me.

Anyways, the first thing I decided to do upon making a new file was to head over to Boogie Street. Not really sure why, but I just vibe with this place. The funny little dancing NPCs. The guy lazing around in his apartment. And the entrance to Fountain World. They're all here on Boogie Street.

I won't lie, this is another one of those places that doesn't have a whole lot going on. But maybe it's because it's so old that I'm so fond of it. I think the fact that it's on the way to a place like Fountain World also helps it. I don't know if I've said it, but Fountain World in 2kki is one of my absolute favorite places. Not for any reason in particular outside of the music. But the vibe there is nice as well. Too bad that I didn't take a picture from Fountain World during this playthrough, and opted to violate the privacy of a guy just listening to his boombox instead, going so far as to bike inside of his house. Very rude of me, I suppose.

Kitsune Residence

One of the rooms of the Kitsune Residence. I haven't been to Kitsune Residence before this. I'm assuming it's one of the many worlds added throughout the year. It definitely has the vibe of something newer, but who knows. I could be wrong. Either way, Kitsune Residence was definitely neat. The vibes there were on point, and the music was really nice as well. Offered quite a bit to do in terms of random rooms and connections. And honestly, that's always appreciated. I think at the time, I really only passed through around half of the map. If I ever pass it on the way to something else, I'll definitely stop here again.

City of Revival

Not really sure why, but I took a picture of the passage to City of Revival. City of Revival is one of the much newer areas and it's really neat for something that's marked as being fairly incomplete. There's definitely some neat ideas, and the design is generally pretty solid. I definitely got jumpscared by one of the events here, that's for sure.

Also, shrimp.

Lavender Office

I'm not sure why my files have put Lavender Office behind City of Revival, considering you have to go through Lavender Office to get to City of Revival, but I guess that's how Windows decided to order them. And I guess that means that's how it's getting posted. Either way, Lavender Office is honestly one of the most peak 2kki worlds. You know it's a good world when it's got a Mosenite bgm. And this one doesn't just have 1 absolutely amazing bgm, but 2. And honestly, the non-Mosenite bgm here is pretty good as well.

That aside, the picture is just moments before they laughed me out of the office.

Tranquil Park

This is a shot of the latest version of Tranquil Park. Honestly, I'm not really sure how to feel about it. I remember seeing the slightly older version of Tranquil Park and I honestly think it had so much more charm. I think the Clover statue should have stayed, but I guess it's gone now. I will say that I do like the old Windows scattered around the place, they definitely look cool, but considering they just seem kinda tacked on, I don't know if they're more interesting than the Clover statue being removed. Sadly, it's just overall a downgrade. #JusticeForClover

Tricolor Room

The Tricolor room is a really neat room, with a lot going on with it. For just a simple design, there's so many events packed into this one, and the music here is all so nice. I don't think I've ever done them all in one playthrough, to be quite honest. Maybe one day I'll get around to doing them all, but for now, I simply remember going to the piano room and nothing more. I did get the sheep to sit with me though, and I think that should be counted as a win.

Budding Life World

This is one of those weird ones. This shot is from the cliff in Budding Life World. It's a world where there's really not a whole lot to do, nor is it all that hard to get to. Honestly, it's more of something you look at once, and then you continue to pass through it. Kind of like some sort of liminal space. But I guess in a way, most places in YN fangames can be treated as liminal spaces unless they have some sort of major event or are treated as a popular destination. After all, YNO users tend to host tours througout most of the worlds.

Anyways, this one is unique, I suppose. If you go to the cliff, you're essentially stuck there until you eyeball bomb back to the nexus or simply chose to wake up. It's not a bad cliffside or anything, but I feel like it's a very "If you've seen it once, then that's really it." It's just one of those things you look at and then you move on from. Anyways, it'd be cool if you could go back from the cliffside, but it's been in game for a while, so I suppose if you were meant to go back from said cliff, you'd be able to by now.

One of many books in the Library

The Library is kind of one of the classic 2kki areas, that most people familiar with 2kki have seen time and time again. Hell, I feel the library in 2kki is so old, that I can't remember 2kki without it. Needless to say, this is one of the many books in the library. Definitely a newer one, for sure. I think I screencapped it because I was like "What do you think this would taste like?" Which is a good question. What would it taste like? Better yet, how much would that serve?

Completed Kura Puzzle

So, originally I never really liked the Kura puzzles that they would give you from encountering a variety of events in the dreamworld. I would simply just never do them and let them pile up as they went ignored. But in all honesty, I just started giving them a try one year. I'm still not great at Kura puzzles to be honest. But lately, I've been trying to complete the ones I get. At the time of taking this, this was my best record yet. It's been heavily surpassed. The lowest I have currently is an 8 step puzzle to completion. Feels like a record of progress, if anything.

Remember to give your Kura puzzles a shot every once in a while. Who knows, maybe you'll enjoy them.

Himalayan Salt Shoal

Took my first trip to the Himalayan Salt Shoal area.

Yeah... The inspiration here is a bit obvious.

It's not bad here or anything, but I will say that references to the Poniko event just aren't really all that exciting to me. I guess it's due to the length of time that I've been into YN & it's fangames that seeing a Poniko reference is the same as seeing people bring up Bad Apple. It's just that overbearingly popular part of the community where it's neat the first few times, but you just want to move on past it later. Mostly because you're just kind of exhausted from it. I do appreciate the minor differences here and there, but I won't lie. I didn't seek out to do the event in this area. I remember reading there was one here, but I don't even remember what it's supposed to be anymore. I'll get to it... One day, surely.

Grayscale Bookshelves Grayscale Bookshelves

I feel like this entry is going to be a lot less in length than the pictures, so I suppose you should all bear with me.

This is the Grayscale Boookshelves. Most library areas in the game tend to be kind of interesting to me, and it seems like it has quite a few connections and specific things you have to do to make it to other areas. I didn't really get to do them all, simply because I was just passing through. Like most things, I'll get to that at a later point.

Both of these screencaps are from sub areas within the area. The first one is from the gray vintage library. At first, I didn't remember why I took such an image, but after looking at it, it became kind of clear why I did. I'm sure a funny little green guy of mine would appreciate this.

The sub area with the picture frame is definitely kind of cool though. I forgot to do the event attatched to it. But in general, the area was fairly unique, so I snapped a screenshot of it all anyways.

I do love it when the areas in this game have unique and elaborate pixel art and neat things to do. It makes taking pictures of a rather underwhelming experience all the more memorable just due to the art itself. And I think that's what helps this game stick out so much in my mind. Like I've said a million times now, I really do love 2kki, even if it's not the world's most exciting game out there. Little things like this just further that feeling.

12/02/24

Unending River

Well, I suppose doing the first of this month's screencaps is fine. I honestly didn't expect that so many of my screencaps would be from November, but I digress. I didn't really have much to do outside of playing 2kki, so I just played a lot of 2kki. Still, moving on.

I only have 2 for this day, and the first of which is the flowers form the Unending River. There's really not a whole lot in this area. It's really just a connecting point with this detour and that's about it. But the flowers are kinda cute. Even if I feel like looking at them is going to bring up that old "You Are An Idiot" thing that would cause you to need to reboot your PC. The more I look at them, the more I can hear it in my mind.

Fall Shoal

The last place I'll be bringing up is Fall Shoal. This one is kind of unique in my memories, solely because I remember having to afk in the middle of trying to explore. Really a shame, because it seems like there's a lot going on here, and the vibe is pretty chill as well. I don't remember the music though. My brain filed it under "Should be Monochrome Feudal Japan" though, for some reason. And I'm pretty sure it was not Monochrome Feudal Japan's background music, because I would absolutely remember that, due to how much I simply cannot stand how much that track drones on.

Anyways, I'll be back for you some day, Fall Shoal.

For now, that wraps up my earlier 2kki expeditions. I have more that I will be getting to eventually. Mostly because I have a literal pile of screencaps to start sifting through for newer entries. However, I'd like to space these out a bit more and start tackling other games I've played in the past, along with getting to other projects I plan to do. Oh well, you know what they say.

Except I don't know what they say because all I do is keep adding onto my to do list. Oops. Tomorrow though, after the house cleaning, I plan to put up... something. I'm not sure what. I haven't decided on it. I suppose I'll wake up and spin a wheel. Anyways, see you all later.

Jan 18, 2025

What if I said that I was nearly done with all the changes I needed to make? Because I finally am. I did clean up all the graphics pages. I couldn't get a gif stopper script to work on my end, so I did the next best thing and piled any section that needed to display gifs under a tab. I just have more proofreading to do along with revamping 2 whole pages, and then I'm done!

Anyways, what if I said I opted not to work on that and decided to watch anime & play 2kki today because I needed a bit of a mental break? Well uh, yeah that's what I did. And tomorrow I'm heading to Ikea to finally grab a few things I need, assuming they're in stock. I should probably check on that, because it's going to suck if I go with the intention of getting a bookshelf and not being able to get a bookshelf.

Anyways, 2kki log because my screencaps are really piling up on me. They've kind of spiraled out of control, to be honest. Basically, I'll get this done before doing a few other entries I plan on doing, based around anime, a few more Pokemon TCG things, and whatever else I need to clean up. Also going to attempt to set up a Ko-fi button on here, because admittedly after the Oscar vet trip, my wallet's been pretty empty. I'm not at emergency levels, but considering I'm in a situation where I need to replace my tablet due to mine being pretty old, I'm going to make getting a new one my goal. I'll probably do some art requests and what not related to that. I don't want to commit to full on commissions yet though. Not without doing some warm ups. I'll talk about that at another point though.

Because I have to wake up somewhat early, we're keeping this log on the shorter side.

Flying Fish World's Pink Screen

Since it's been a while and a lot has happened since then, I don't really remember as much during some of this playthrough. Funny, considering it's only been a month since I took some of these screencaps. Anyawys, this is one of the transitional screens for Urotsuki's Dream Scene in the Flying Fish World. The Pink Passage, as it's called. I think it's a bit of a rare chance to see it, considering the transitions are random. I think it was honestly the first time I recalled seeing it. I don't remember why I went back to Flying Fish World, but the scene is still really nice.

-FlyingFishWorldFan2008

Goldfish Pond Goldfish Pond

So, I ended up taking 2 screencaps from this area, despite it being a bit on the small side.

This is the Goldfish Pond. I remember it took a while to get here, to be honest. You have to go through Square-Square World, and that place is kind of a mess if you're not using a map. But I guess since I do use maps on all my newer 2kki playthroughs, I probably shouldn't be complaining. It's like cheating. But the game is so big, that it's hard not to use maps.

That being said, this place is really pretty, even if it's essentially a dead end that you have to either eyeball bomb back to the Nexus from, or alternatively, wake up. There's really only some of the flowers you can see on the edge, and then the 2 goldfish in the middle. Still, it's nice to have areas like these, which are essentially more of an artpiece than anything. Really makes finding them without using maps feel kind of special.

Honestly though, despite this place being nice, it has a bit of issues. I really wish the sign in the middle of the goldfish wasn't there. Like, it goes nowhere. I suppose it's not a super old area, so maybe it'll be updated at some point to include more stuff. But I guess we'll have to wait and see if or when that happens. I mean, 2kki updates happen so frequently these days, that I wouldn't be surprised if something just showed up out of the blue.

My other issue is the lack of BGM. Because if there's one thing I love, it's all the really tranquil BGMs 2kki has. Anyways this is all nitpicking, obviously.

Dojo

Oh, I guess I remember why I went to Flying Fish World after all. I think the daily expedition was to head to the Dojo, if I"m remembering it correctly? Or maybe I'm thinking of something closer to New Years. I remember recently they sent us on an expedition to the Dojo.

Anyways, in this screencap, Urotsuki is just A Little Guy. The smallest of guys, to be honest. I think I'm using the Fairy effect in this screencap? It's the only thing I could think of, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I don't have much to say about the Dojo. The concept is kinda cute, but the eyestrain here makes it one of those areas I don't enjoy going to all that frequently.

12/17/24

Sprout World Passage

One of the passages in Sprout World. Considering you need to come here to get to quite a few deeper areas, I ended up memorizing some of the route here. Anyways, the passage here is really pretty. And the music while you're in the area with the little guy on the couch who's just vibing is really good. I'd say underrated track, but it seems to appear in a decent amount of 2kki playlists. Maybe at some point, I'll add it when I update my blog.

Anyways, have I mentioned that I love a lot of this game's aesthetic passages? Because I really do. They're some of the prettiest parts of this game. Just random screens where you transition from one place to another.

Deserted Pier

The Deserted Pier. When I went, I was on my way to the Planetarium, so I didn't end up seeing a lot of the area. I should go back and check that out at some point. After all, the Deserted Pier is kind of huge. And it feels like there's a lot to see there. Or well, that's what the area makes me think. I think there's about 4 or 5 areas reachable from it? But it's one of those maze type areas, so those always tend to be big. Then again, I'd rather have that over stuff like the Hell and Intestines type mazes. At some point, those kind of freaked me out, but considering how many years its been since we've gotten them, they just feel so bland now. Kind of a "been there, done that" type of feeling. But I suppose that's because that's much older content. And to me, mazes like this one seem newer, but only because I've put off playing 2kki for a while, so the content really built up on me.

Coffee Man Room

Oh, here's a cute little area, with a neat event as well. While I was in the Deserted Town, I had to go off and check out the Coffee Man Room. I really liked the mood here. Considering the event not only gives you a badge, but you get to take the time to sit and have a nice coffee with the Coffee Man, this detour was worth the effort.

Other than that, there's not too much to do here.

Deserted Town

I guess I'll go back to the topic of the Deserted Town though, since I mentioned it. It's another one of those large and sprawling areas. Honestly, it's a bit easy to get lost here. Thank god for the 2kki wiki maps. They're really a lifesaver. I feel like areas like these are impossible to navigate without getting lost, especially when you're looking for something in particular.

However, I will say that exploring aimlessly with no particular goal in mind is also pretty fun as well. Definitely worth doing from time to time, so don't forget to do so.

Ssome of these areas happen to have a lot of abstract statues. I really like looking at them all. I don't know why, but they remind me of cryptids and stuff like that. Like every once in a while, you see people draw creatures with deer & stag skulls. I don't know why my brain associates these statues with creatures like that, but it just does. Either way, big fan of the statues. Look forward to seeing more of those pop up, becuase I definitely take pictures when I see them. And during the last month or so of playing 2kki, I saw a lot of them.

Stary Night Event

Here's the final screencap of this particular play session's trip: The Planetarium's Starry Night Event. This place takes a long time to get to, but it's well worth the effort. Everything down here is so pretty. can be a bit disorienting to find the right hole in the wall to get to the event area. But once you realize where it is, you'll probably feel a little dumb for not recognizing it. Or, at least that's how I felt.

Anyways, this is one of the big events in 2kki that everyone gets told to check out while playing. And for good reason. 2kki has a lot of really pretty events. And yeah sure, a lot of them are just looking at the night sky and seeing stars and what not. But hey, the stars are pretty neat. It always makes me wish that I didn't live in a city. Considering that I live in Southern California, the area's pretty heavily hit with light pollution. Makes it hard to see anything in the night sky. But sometimes, I used to go out to the high desert, close to Mammoth with family. When we were up there, driving at night, the stars were so cool to see. It's almost magical feeling. I miss it. Maybe it's why I like events like this so much.

Kura Puzzle Record

Ending this post with my best Kura Puzzle record so far. I don't know how I managed this one. It kind of just clicked into place. Like I said in one of my last posts, I'm not good at these things. I used to actively avoid trying to do them constantly. I'm glad that I've grown to finally like them, even if it was years later.

With that said, I'm off to bed. I finished this much faster than I thought I would. I'll add the thumbnail to my media log later, as well as getting back to all the things I need to do. I just didn't want to be super behind on screencaps. Expect a few more blogs later. Going to have a little Room Tour type post soon. Probably after I set up all my furniture and vacuum. I should be getting 2 of my preorders soon. But yeah, I'll probably push out a few more anime blogs, and the rest of my 2kki playlogs as well as fixing the last stuff I need. And the TCG stuff. That's important too. So much to do, so little time. Anyways, goodnight.

Feb 04, 2025

God help me, I have so many screencaps of this game, and the amount of said caps piling up has kept me from doing my expeditions. With that said, before I get into this playlog, I'd like to take a bit of time to talk about a few things.

So, as I said I would, I started going through all my old graphics and putting them up. I'm starting off with anything that uses official art before getting into anything that uses fanart. Also, unfortunately I'm posting all the larger pieces as jpgs. I have the ones that are saved as PNG backed up still, so maybe I'll toss them on Catbox and give everyone links to those. I did also find an old layout, as well as other parts of old sites. I don't have all of them, but I'm getting there. However, for hosting website layouts, what's the best way to do it? I don't think you can really just upload a zip file onto neocities. That, and I know people probably are going to find that suspicious. Would using github be the best call? Honestly, figuring out how to post them is the reason I'm hesitant to even start working on the ones I said. Well, either way, it's the next big project I plan on working on. Aside from like, all the other things I want to put up. I'll finish maybe one day. I hope.

I'm going to slowly work in some of the graphics. I'm also considering taking the things I've rehosted and making more of a toybox type page and clearing out some of the things I don't really use and keeping the graphics section as my own stuff over the years, vs the toybox which would just be things I've found over the net. Is that adding more work to my plate? Yeah. But let's be real, running a website is just giving yourself optional work for funsies.

Also New Gaga Dropped. Too bad I can't just embed it, but here's the link. Honestly, banger.

Anyways, onto 2kki. This one's a long one. Maybe I should be breaking it up into multiple entries, but to be honest, this all took place over a day. I think it was 2 playsessions, one being before I slept, and one being after (Just like writing this article took place. Sorry if it feels a bit disjointed due to that.) Either way, despite the length of this one, I still have a lot more files. I think I have a 2kki addiction.

12/18/24

Statue in Silent Sewers

I think I mentioned in my last entry that I'm rather fond of the statues that I see in various worlds. Well, here's the one in Silent Sewers. I wonder if the statue's growing out of sludge or something. I mean, you're supposed to be in a sewer world after all. Either way, this place is pretty neat. I think I've only ever explored half of it. I finally remembered recently that I could shortcut to it, but I honestly only ever pass through. Maybe one day, I'll go explore the other half. But that's what I always say.

Ruined Garden

I'm going to just say it. This screencap kinda sucks. I'm not really sure why I took it, but I took it nonetheless. Ruined Garden is a really big place, and it tries to get people to explore the entire map, which is kind of cool. Yeah sure, the locked door is annoying at first, but it's also really neat to be able to go through the map to unlock the other part. Either way, this is right in front of the entrance to Vintage Town, and I'm surprised I didn't take pictures of that place, instead of this rather dull view.

This is another place that I really haven't seen all of, by the way. Yeah, that's a bit of a common trend with me. But also, 2kki is big.

Decrepit Dwellings Decrepit Dwellings Statue Decrepit Dwellings Apartments Decrepit Dwellings Room

I'm not really sure why I took as many pictures of Decrepit Dwllings as I did, but I guess it's because the vibe here is really neat. Dunno what it is about this place. Like, it's hard to describe the exact vibe. The tile set here really is nice. It could be the greenery though. I tend to really like a lot of places with greenery. I don't think it's the music, because I honestly don't remember it off the top of my head. I think it was a bit more on the ambient drone vibe until you get to the statue.

Speaking of the statue, here's my screencap of the statue. I think you get a menu theme or something for going up to it, because I remember the wiki talking about it. To be honest, a lot of these screencaps can be a bit of a blur when you lay them all out at once instead of immediately writing your thoughts down after your session. Maybe I need to start doing that instead of letting them pile up. I'm failing at the Dream Diary aspect of a game about Dream Diaries. That's a little too meta for me.

Either way, I do remember piano music that I associate with this image. I don't know if it's how it actually is in game, or if my brain is remembering one of the many 2kki sleep mixes I tend to love.

I suppose that these would be the "dwellings" of the Decrepit Dwellings. Honestly, I do love the areas that tend to look like houses in 2kki. It makes me wonder what kind of people live there. Or if they even have people living there. What if they're abandoned? Stuff like that is always interesting to think of.

Another interesting aspect is always the nonsensical architecture. For example, what is going on with the architecture in this place? One of the fences runs into a wall with no real border that properly ends the fence. And then there's this weird bridge looking thing? I think it's supposed to have fences on either side of the bridge so it'd be theoretically safe for people, but it looks really awkward. The nature of dreams, I suppose.

This is the room you sleep in to get to the Abandoned Dreadnought.

Rooms are another common theme in 2kki, and a lot of them are really cool. I love barging into a room and plopping into the bed and seeing if anything happens. In this case, that's exactly what you do. You have a random 50/50 chance to end up at Abandoned Dreadnought. The first time I got here, I was a bit lost and didn't understand why I couldn't get there, but turns out I was just having miserable luck with said 50/50. Well, that happens sometimes.

Abandoned Dreadnought

Abandoned Dreadnought itself feels like more of a liminal space type area than most of the previous ones on this route. Not in the way that the internet describes them, but quite literally. It feels like an area you just progress through to get to another place, and that's it. Like yeah, it's a bit of a maze to get from point A to point B. But there's nothing really here that's standout about it. It's just a place you go. That's all. Honestly, if I didn't take a screencap of it, I wouldn't be talking about it at all. There's just nothing to say here.

Chainlink Lees

Chainlink Lees is a place I feel like I have more to say, at least. I don't know what it is, but this place has very Fallout-esque vibes. Maybe it's because looking at it reminded me of Fallout immediately is why I'm saying that. The doors remind me of typical vault doors and the layout feels like one of the museums you do a mission in for the main quest for Fallout 3.

I wonder if the author took any inspiration while making it?

Mechanical Heart Act

The Mechanical Heart Act is one of the events that you can see along this route. It's a cute little play with some dolls twirling around on stage while some somber piano music plays in the background. You have to do this to progress through the rest of the route, so best enjoy it. Luckily, it's not particularly long, and it ends up putting you on path to progress through the areas again.

Honestly, there's not a whole lot to say about it. It unlocks a wallpaper, which is pretty neat. But a lot of the older content in the game used to unlock wallpapers. I guess that seems rare these days because they've changed unlockables quite a bit over the years, but back then, a wallpaper was just kind of standard to get.

Verdant Promenade Verdant Promenade Room

I love statues in this game so much, I swear I could make an entire entry where I'm like "here, have a neat looking statue I found in the middle of nowhere in 2kki." But I also guess that's the point of these playlogs. At some point people will probably get tired of me going "Woah, statues" and "Woah, places with a lot of greenery." Sorry, I guess I just have some aesthetics that I really like. Either way, I like the wings on this one.

Either way, this place is really nice. I enjoy going here. It's another one of those large sprawling areas with a few minor connection points and a few hidden things that are really deep in the dreamworld, but like, I guess that's what makes them unique.

The little side room in Verdant Promenade.

It's kind of cozy, but it's also kind of dilapidated. I'm not sure which one to pick, but it definitely looks like it's seen better days. So maybe it's better to say "it looks like it was once very cozy" instead of implying it currently is. I think there used to be something you could get here, but it's removed these days? I'm unsure. I didn't go back to the wiki to check to be honest. It's one of those kinds of nights (lazy.)

Forgotten Megalopolis Statue Forgotten Megalopolis Forgotten Megalopolis Forgotten Megalopolis Bell Tower

Forgotten Megalopolis. I took a few caps here, cause this is a huge map. Kind of a maze to navigate as well. As usual, I took a picture of the statue, because I just do that. Honestly, this one reminds me of Regidrago. It's the shape, I'm sure.

Sorry if my commentary on this area is a bit sparse, considering there's several pics and there's not much to say I feel. I kind of wonder what posessed me to take that many.

The bottom area of Forgotten Megalopolis. I kind of like when the maps make you go through most of it in a maze-like manner. It makes it interesting and gets you to see a lot of the map. The architecture in this place is neat. I love the mossy bricks and the general vibe. Well, I guess it definitely adds to the "forgotten" part of the title, to be abandoned and what not.

Also I just really like the bottom of buildings in these paths where the bits of grass peak through.

This is the top of the buildings. Seeing the area from the very top is kind of neat. I think if the sky was a bit more detailed, like even just a foggy day, it would add to the vibe of the area. Notably because it feels a bit empty in the places where you can't see the city skyline in some places, so it's just awkward. At least the top of the buildings have some interesting features up here. Like notably another statue. Because I love weird statues

-Weird2kkiStatueFan3K

And finally, a shot of the bell tower at the Forgotten Megalopolis.

This is a really cool view, especially with the city skyline that comes in over at the side. Makes getting all the way up here pretty worth it, but I wish there was some sort of event up here as well. Something with the bell itself could be really neat. Even if it's something as simple as ringing the bell. Either way, I've only ever taken this route here before, and I've never branched off to go to the Sketch Plains. It's on the to do list, with everything else, I reassure you.

Wintry Cliff Wintry Cliff Cavern

The Wintry Cliffs Cabin. This place is kinda cute. I love little places like this. It's always interesting to see the cozy little rooms and living spaces of the dream world. I think I've said this before, but I love places that add this lived in sense of the dreamworld. But also like, I guess that's what happens when you start a blog, and take a break in the middle of writing something.

The Wintry Cliffs Cavern entrance. This is the way to the Tomb of Velleities. I don't remember why I took this path again, so close after doing it so recently. Maybe it was due to getting something I forgot, or just going down there again for a screencap. I don't know. Knowing me it was definitely the screencap, because I can't think of what else it could be.

Maybe an expedition? Who knows.

Tomb of Velleities Lunar Sanctuary

I definitely think I took the route down to Velleities for this screencap.

Tomb of Velleities is a really long route, so I guess it's expected to go down again, screencap it all, and then go like "yeah so I didn't screencap the event in the Lunar Sanctuary." But I also wouldn't be surprised. Either way, I think I've talked about in the past how this is one of the longest routes in the game, so I won't go over that again. Music is pretty as well, with the piano and everything.

I feel like I'm running out of stuff to say, but I guess it's because this article is a lot.

The Ceiling

I believe this screencap marks the divide between "screencaps I got while playing at night" and "screencaps I got playing after I slept." The transition between areas here seems kind of sudden, after all.

Anyways, this is The Ceiling. I thought this area was supposed to be lit up, but I didn't stay in it too long. However the music here is really nice. I always remember the fact that it has both a normal version and a reversed version. Still, both are really good. I don't remember if the music switches upon lighting it up or not, but i definitely remember going here when it was new and I remember lights.

Lotus Waters

Lotus Waters is another one of those really popular areas in this game. Probably due to the overall aesthetic & matching music, but there's not much here to be honest. Either way, it's always a pleasant visit. I remember stumbling onto this area by mistake when it was new. That had to have been quite a while ago now, because I think it's been in the game for a very long time now.

Also, I have this track in my music player, if you wish to listen.

Spaceship Balcony Spaceship Spaceship Room

Condensing these a little bit, simply to make it a bit easier to talk about them. I don't know what I was thinking not doing this earlier, but here we are.

Took my first trip to the spaceship during this playthrough. I think I was looking for another area and ended up here by mistake. Didn't really know how to get into the area and didn't realize the shortcut through here was from the other side. It be like that sometimes though.

Either way, this area is okay. Most of the stuff to see here is very typical "Things You Would Find in a Spaceship" type stuff. I did like the balcony view though. It's generally really cool to see. The multicolored women tubes are also kinda fun. IDK what else to call them.

Snowy Forest

Snowy Forest Passage!

This place is super cute, and I honestly wish that the majority of this area looked like this. However, it is just a big empty frozen forest. There's some neat stuff to find in this area, and the place it links to is also pretty cool. But outside of this and another event (which I didn't seek out when I went here, unfortunately,) there's not a whole lot to do here. There is the stranded camper? Guy with the car? I'm not sure what he really is, but you can do the event to save him and that's pretty neat. And I guess the time limit you're given also makes the area really interesting, but that's about it. The wind blowing in the background always makes me feel a bit tense when going here, especially if I don't use the crossing effect. But I guess that effect also trivializes the entire gimmick...

Nocturnal Grove Nocturnal Grove Room Nocturnal Grove TV Nocturnal Grove Lake Event

Nocturnal Grove is another one of those areas that everyone else playing this game should experience at some point. The entire thing is gorgeous. From the giant sprawling area you navigate, with the stars reflecting in the lake, to the quaint little room you find near the sattelite dish, and the event you can trigger here. This place is just breathtaking. Honestly among one of the top areas to go to in 2kki. The Stargazing event is fairly popular for a reason. The view of the lake as you cross by boat during the night, seeing the whispy clouds and shooting stars illuminate the area is one of those events you simply must do. Even if you only play 2kki briefly, it's worth it to seek this one out.

Viridescent Temple Entry Viridescent Temple

Viridescent Temple is an incredibly interesting area. Just the entrance alone feels so otherworldly. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's definitely unique. Dunno why, but my brain is reminded of .hack//IMOQ for some reason. Specifically, this area makes me think of Dun Loireag. It's weird, because they aren't exactly the most similar, but I suppose the entrance looking out over a vast empty space, high above the clouds is what does it. But unlike this, Dun Loireag isn't enclosed...

The rest of the Viridescent Temple is a giant maze like structure. It was kind of difficult to navigate, but not the worst. There's a lot of patience you need when trying to figure this area out, but it's worth it. After all,l you get to experience the vibes here. And as I've said in the past, wow I sure do love greenery in 2kki. Or well, just in general. Honestly, if I could pick an ideal space for myself, I think I'd want some sort of industrial loft mixed with Skandi style furniture and giant windows while I deck it out with plants. But that's a bit of a tangent... Then again, so was the earlier paragraph. Well, considering this is a diary about a game named "Dream Diary" where everythings up to interpretation, I don't know if I can be blamed for losing focus. There's only so much commentary you can offer when pointing out cool places in these games, I suppose.

While I was here, I ran into another person just vibing near this vending machine, so I decided to sit with them.

Floataing Catacombs Mushroom Room

This last picture for this area is from the Floating Catacombs. It's kind of a sub area of the Viridescent Temple, but you continue through one into this and then to another area. So, I guess that also makes it it's own place. This place is just dark most of the time, and there's not too much interesting here considering it's just a passage. Well, aside from this.

If you go off to the side you can find a cube that leads to the Mushroom Room. You have to use the Fairy effect to make it glow, but it's not too hard to find. I think. I don't remember, as I used the fairy effect to locate it right away. Inside is well, mushrooms. I don't really know what to say on that one other than "it's in the name, after all." Pretty place.

Lavender Waters

Lavender Waters Gathering.

Honestly, this is probably one of the most popular areas in 2kki. Everyone seems to know this place. It's incredibly popular for the music, and also being one of the deepest areas for a while.

It's kind of funny, because I think this is the first time I actually decided to go over to Lavender waters. But the area is popular, so there's always a lot of people. I took a screencap of everyone sitting around to comemmorate the occasion, but I think it usually tends to be this way on YNO.

Cosmic World

Cosmic World was definitely a place I had to pass through at some point. I don't really remember why I took a picture here. I don't really feel any particular way about it, past the fact that it can be a bit overwhelming. Honestly, when I saw the name of it was "cosmic world," I feel a little let down. I was hoping it had more to do with celestial bodies, as those tend to be one of my favorite themes in this game. After all, if you're going to dream, dream big. Go for the damn stars.

Either way, this place was definitely a quick passthrough and that was probably for the best. I remember the area being a little headache inducing. Kind of how I feel about Sugar Road as well.

Underwater Base Drowning Event Drowning Event Depths Ocean Floor

Anyways, we end this playlog off with my trip to the Depths. All my screencaps here are from the Drowning event, aside from the first one, which is the Underwater Base. This area is the deepest in the game that we have so far, and navigating through the Depths is a bit daunting. It's a maze of an area, with tons of teleporter nodes. Definitely a map place, unless you wanna get lost for a good long while. But I guess with a map, it makes it hard to explore. Apparently you can't eyeball bomb back to the Nexus from here, considering how you can't light a fuse underwater. I don't know, I've never tried it. It's just what the wiki says, word for word. Still, this is a pretty cool area, and I found a guy just laying there as well. I love the places that people decide to lay during 2kki. It's kinda funny to be doing something and just find some random person that hasn't budged in however long. Makes it a bit fun.

Also really odd to say, but the drowning event is oddly calm. I feel like actual drowning would be a bit more frantic.

Well, with all of that out of the way, another 2kki log is complete. I think it'll be a little bit before I get around to doing another one, but from now on, I think I'm going to group a lot of my screencaps up rather than commentating on each one individually. I honestly do not know why I haven't done this in the past. Regardless of that, this one was a pretty long one to write, and I'm eager to get back to the other things I have to do for the site. I hate sitting here and saying "oh, this was draining to do," because it makes it seem like I don't enjoy talking about 2kki. But I think I overwhelmed myself by trying to fit a single day's playsession caps into 1 entry. From here on out, I still have quite a bit more, but I'm going to try to pace myself a bit better on doing this.

With that said, I'm going to get back to the other stuff I want to work on for this blog. But I will say that I'm planning on at least doing a FFXIV house tour considering I took my free playtime for January-February finally (Says guy who hasn't even started the story yet.) I guess look forward to that, as well as all the other content I'm planning? Either way, I think I'll go to bed finally.

May 03, 2025

So, it's definitely been a while since I've talked about 2kki. Honestly, due to the amount of screencaps that I had taken while I was using the old computer, I had put it down for a while. After all, the only thing I was able to do was work on this site and play 2kki, so they piled up quite a bit. I don't usually play that often, but I do have spurts of activity. That aside, I would like to go back to playing 2kki a bit soon, so I figured I'd get an entry like this out of the way. So, let's do it. Here's the last major 2kki log for a while and honestly, it's a lot.

I have a total of 56 areas to show here (If I counted correctly.) I can't guarantee that it'll be the best commentary, as I can kind of remember things here and there about my journeys through the dream worlds. But either way, hope you enjoy reading. I apologize that some areas have big image galleries while other areas are kind of skipped over. I have no real excuse. I also apologize if some have the most stale commentary out there. It just be that way.

Mountaintop Ruins Statue Mountaintop Ruins Mountaintop Ruins Mountaintop Ruins Mural Mountaintop Ruins Mural

Well, I suppose we're starting off strong by showing the Mountaintop Ruins. Honestly, before this, I had never been here. Then again, that seems to be a common theme with me. Either way, really cool place. I remember seeing it a lot in videos, and honestly the scenery here looks great. The mural area looks pretty neat. Either way, it transitions into the next area I went to pretty seamlessly. Though, IDK if a giant ladder up to a place is "seamlessly" now that I think about it.

Either way, the vibe here's pretty nice. Feels like one of those areas that you can "taste" how fresh the air is. I don't know how to else to put that, but going out to places like the mountains out near the high desert when you normally live near a smoggy city has taught me that clean air has a "taste" of sorts.

Toilet in the Eyeball Cherry Fields

The Eyeball Cherry Fields are up next. I'm not really sure what to say about this place--Other than the fact that not only does an area with a chaser kind of always scare me to some degree (because I'm bad with chasers,) but uh yeah, this sure is one of the places of all time.

Honestly it has a lot of eye gore and I'm just not fond of that.

But, there is a giant toilet here. And I mean, who hasn't seen this place in some form? It's really neat and just stands out for the fact that well... It's a giant toilet.

Rusty Urban Complex

Rusty Urban Complex is next on this route and well...

Honestly, this is just another place to pass by. Honestly, I wasn't even able to activate the event in this area, so unfortunately I have nothing exciting to say. Just a mention of the fact that I passed by.

Foliage Estate Sattelite Dish Foliage Estate Foliage Estate Vending Machine Foliage Estate

Rusty Urban Complex can take you one of 3 places. The one I decided to go to? Foliage Estate.

So, this one is pretty neat. It's laid out like a maze, but you can end up in a variety of interesting places, and you can find a pretty cool satellite dish, which unlocks a wallpaper. Honestly, I love places with a night sky view. They're some of my favorite in this game, and all the times they show up, they're always amazing. Anyways, I've come here a few times, on different routes to different places, but I decided to only bring this up once for now. After all, we have a lot to cover in this post, and this is barely scratching the surface of everything.

Radiant Ruins

Ohhhhhh haha he got that :< goin on, don't he?

Yeah, so this place is called Radiant Ruins. I'm pretty sure it's yet another place you pass through only on the way to something deeper. I've been here before, and I'm pretty sure it was to get to a pretty deep place, and on an expedition as well. Either way, nothing special here. Not sure why they named it "radiant ruins" when it's just ruins, nothing all that radiant. I suppose it's due to the particle design on the floor? Either way, generally forgettable place. Sorry, I don't think there's anything more to say on a bunch of grey ass buildings, even if they have emoticons on them.

Stained Glass Reflection from Rose Church

Rose Church was probably where I was going. After all,it's pretty deep and I'm 99% certain Radiant Ruins is an area that you pass through to get here. Either way, I've been here before on a whim, but I think I had to go here this time for an expedition? Or either than that, I was probably tracking something down. Unsure of which exactly. Still a pretty place, even if the music is a little haunting. I really like areas that have a lot of foliage and plants and stuff. One of my favorite moods, and the routes on the way here have plenty of that, from what I remember.

Home Within Nowhere Bedroom

Home Within Nowhere is one of those areas that I don't really remember how I got there, or why I ended up there. But it's a neat little place. It's a very small layout of a very narrow house with not much in it aside from a bedroom, 2 hallways, and an entryway. And unfortunately going outside takes you to a blank abyss. However, with the small space that they decided to use, it packs so much into it. It has so much charm and character, that I couldn't help but really enjoy this place. As you can see, someone else was here, and if I recall correctly, they were just sitting there AFK. There's no real bgm here, and heading outside just gives you the sounds of the wind blowing as nothing else is there, so it's amazing that they got so much character out of a tiny little set of maps. Definitely a place to check out, if I do say so myself.

Lamplit Stones

Lamplit Stones is the next area I went to in this particular playthrough I belive. And honestly, this place is gorgeous. I don't know why, but it reminds me of a particular minecraft build for whatever reason. Something I made with a friend or what not. Either way, really tranquil and the music here is by Mosenite, so you know it's a banger. Either way, this is a neat little area to wander around. I should go back and explore it more, considering there's quite a few connections here, but I only ended up going to one.

Adabana Gardens Transition Screen Adabana Gardens Vending Machine

Yeah, naturally the place I headed after this was Adabana Gardens. This is just one of those peak tranquil based vibes only 2kki areas. It's all over videos, the music tends to be in a decent handful of mixes, and it's just amazing. I love the main area, I love the transition hallways, even if I haven't seen them all for myself in game. They're gorgeous. I think it's really neat that they exist though. Either way, peak place to afk, and peak place to roam around without a plan.

I think at the time of taking this picture, there was a vending machine mission.

Dark Alleys Robot Room

I don't remember why I went all the way to Dark Alleys when I took this screencap. I might have been picking up some effects I ended up forgetting to grab. Either way, I went there, and I visited the robot boy in his little room. The Dark Stairs part of the Dark Alley is a pretty neat concept I will say, but ultimately outside of a little maze, there's nothing all that interesting here.

Rainbow Bridge in the Tribe Settlement

I guess this was just an effects playthrough or something, because here's me getting another. Yeah, it was pretty late in my playthrough when I went back to the Tribe Settlement to finally do the... Is it an event? It's not really an event I feel, but it sure is a thing you can do. Either way, the Bat effect is located past here, but you need 1 effect to go get the other, so I finally had done that. And I guess this is just a picture I thought to take along the way.

Also yes, that's me confessing that I haven't bothered to get all my effects yet. Because of course I haven't. One day I'll go out of the way to get all my effects and all my wallpapers and kura puzzles and all those neat things, but I'm just taking it day by day, each time I decide to play. There's a lot to experience in this game, and each time I look, it's grown to include more content. Which is always pretty neat. It means you never run out of stuff to do. But it becomes scary when things change, I suppose. Either way, I'll make sure to finally get all my effects soon on this playthrough.

Ocean Floor

New Year, New 2kki

Honestly, I love seeing the date between the two of these and realizing that I probably decided that the perfect thing to do would be to check out a bunch of things I knew of but never bothered to do. On this one, I went down to the docks and decided to finally do the submarine event. It was probably for the wallpaper or a badge, if not both. Either way, I ended up down at the Ocean Floor. There's not really much to say about this place. I did remember to grab the Child effect though, before I left.

Chicken World

Chicken World is another one of those places that sure exists in 2kki. Not really sure what else to say. At least the sprite work is pretty cute, but I dunno, it's 100% a liminal space. I don't know anyone who lingers around in Chicken World or even has anything to say past "Chicken World exists" but I dunno. Maybe I'm overlooking all the Chicken World fans. Nothing bad about Chicken World, but that's really it.

Golden Chinatown

I didn't really take a lot of screencaps of the Maple Forest when I went there. It's one of those areas that has a ton of sub areas, and getting to them is a bit of a puzzle. But it also just doesn't have much of a reward to getting into those areas past the fact that well... you made it into those areas? Neat but that's all it really felt like.

Or well, I think that's how it was back when I went to it. Hopefully more has been added to this place. But during this trip, I was able to go from the Maple Forest to the Bamboo Forest and then get past the snakes and go into Golden Chinatown. At the time of going though, Golden Chinatown had nothing to do. So I dunno when or where I'll go back, but I read the wiki and apparently there is more stuff. So who knows.

All I know is that I don't have 10k yume. I don't even have 1k yume.

Dining Hall next to the Bathhouse Bathhouse Bathhouse Event NPCs

Took a trip down to the Bathhouse.

The event here is kinda neat, but it's also a bit frustrating to get out of. I honestly struggled with what to do to be able to save my game after activating this event. Even though the NPCs were a bit silly. After some help from the trusty wiki, I was able to get out safely and save my game (Who would have guessed that the solution was to just sit? Not me, that's for sure.) Made sure to check out the Dining Hall before I left though.

Bottom Garden Vending Machine Gathering

Went down to Bottom Garden for the weekly vending machine find here. I think I talked about Bottom Garden in the past, so I won't repeat myself. But I do like seeing all the different Urotsukis vibing around the vending machine. It's always fun to see.

Vaporwave Mall Vaporwave Mall Fountain View

I also decided to seek out the Vaporwave Mall. Boy, this place is neat. Really love the music here. Vibes are off the charts. It's a pretty big area, and neat to wander around. I do wish they'd put more stuff in here though, but there's a few little shops, and some restrooms as well. Good place to AFK in, that's for sure.

Usually places with bright colors tend to hurt my eyes after a while, but I don't super mind it here. It just works in this place's favor. Dunno why I felt the need to note that.

01/05/2025

Bathhouse Expedition Gathering

Funny enough, after going to the Bathhouse recently, it ended up in a weekly, so I took another trip down again. It was right after reset, so there was a lot of people there. Which is always fun to see.

Honestly, I just like taking pictures of areas when there's a ton of people.

Invisible Maze Event

I finally sought out the Invisible effect, which is hidden in the Invisible Maze. Honestly, there's not a lot to sy here. It's why I only ended up getting a picture of the event. Very sad that you have to commit murder to get your effect, but well... I guess my hands have blood on them because I ended up with the effect. The view here s nice at least, though.

Misty Streets

I think this is actually why I ended up getting the Invisible effect. I wanted to head over to another place, which meant going through Misty Streets. This place is pretty small, and is honestly only a transitional area, but I really like the look of these rural Japanese streets. I know it feels weird to say that pictures of just housing areas in Japan look pretty neat, but they kind of do. Then again, just neat housing places in general look nice to me, no matter where it is. Either way, neat vibes here.

Infinite Pools

Anyways, here's where I was aiming to go. Infinite Pools is basically just 2kki's pool rooms. Really neat to see a take on something which was an internet art project. The pool rooms are kind of grouped along with the backrooms, but they're their own separate thing. I believe the artist was going for a completely different vibe, from what I remember, but it's also been a long time since I looked into anything related to the pool rooms, so don't quote me on anything. Either way, it's really cool to see it in 2kki, and this area is huge. Unfortunately at the moment, it really only has 2 places you can go, and one of them has to be unlocked from the other side. One day, I'll get to that, but I took the only route I could for this playthrough.

Brutalist Complex

Along said route is the Brutalist Complex. This place is essentially a giant maze, and I remember having quite a hard time navigating through it, even with a map of everything. Either way, it's another internet trend that ended up in 2kki, but I feel like this sort of thing really fits 2kki anyways. Dunno why some part of the internet is really hooked on Brutalist arcitecture but like good for them, I suppose. It's always cool to see either way.

Megalithic Forest Cinnabar waiting at the bus stop

If you follow the path from Brutalist Complex to Cookie Haven, you eventually end up at the Megalithic Forest. I love areas like these, that are full of vibrant greens and winding pathways to explore. They usually have some neat ambient music tracks that play while you wander around the paths aimlessly, looking for whatever you find. Peak dreamy atmosphere, if you ask me. The type of thing you would only get comfort from in a video game, because I feel like wandering around a forest, even with a path, would just end badly for me personally lol.

either way, while going down the road at the end of this map, you can see Cinnabar, vibing on her phone at a bus stop. I think it's really interesting that the dream worlds have busses, but I suppose a bus showing up in your dream isn't that unheard of.

Suspended Steamworks

Suspended Steamworks is up next on this path, and boy this is one hell of a maze to get through. I believe there's 2 separate places you can go from here, one being English Thundershower and the other being Candlelight Void. I unfortunately didn't think to go check out English Thundershower on my journey this time and opted to go to Candlelight Void which continued further. Other than the paths being sprawling, I have no real feelings on this place. Factory areas can be kind of cool, but they all feel very samey after a while.

Blood Rose Canal Blood Rose Canal Sunset View

Candlelight Void eventually gives way to Blood Rose Canal, which is honestly really pretty. I don't know why, but this place brings back a particular memory of a perfume I bought as a child from a Buddhist Temple very close to where we live, that I went on from a field trip. It was a very fragrant rose scent, with not much else, and had a really cool packaging of being a frosted glass rose with one of those fake plant stems tied to it. It was a pretty cool souvenir, thinking back on it. Unfortunately I don't have it anymore, but I know that temple is still there. Weird memory to have come to mind while going through this place.

Either way, this place is really pretty, and being able to see the... is it a sunrise? A sunset? Or perhaps a far off star? Doesn't matter, it's pretty neat. Pretty place.

Memory Town

Memory Town is a one way stop after leaving the Blood Rose Canal. Very cute little place with a neat design, but it's also very transitional. You have a chance to get to the Endless Apartments from here, after interacting with the doors a few times. I'm pretty sure I got fairly lucky when I went to go do this, because I don't remember being here for all that long.

Endless Apartments Balcony View

This route ends with the Endless Apartments, which is another maze of a place. This time, it's the apartments, but a variety of mixed doors and rooms with nonsensical patterns. At some point, you end up with a closet that you can go into which starts the Faceless Urotsuki event, which is quite... something. I'll let you go explore it on your own, instead of spoiling it here. Just know that when I was doing this route, I totally ended up not going into the closet a total of TWO TIMES and ended up in here way longer than I ever needed to be. So uh yeah, don't be a dummy like me. If you see the closet, just go inside lol.

Sunny Town

After all that, I decided to go back into the dreamworld and head somewhwere else. This is Sunny Town, a subarea of the Nazca Valley. Honestly, getting places through Nazca Valley is kind of a mess, and navigating through the information on the wiki with some of these is just straight up not helpful. I know that it'd be a bunch of aimless location bloat to sit there and make different pages instead of some sort of subsection, but also consider the following: It's just laid out very poorly, and searching up areas connected here can be a bit of a headache. But it's also not my place to sit there and tell people what to do, and it's probably done like this due to map data or something, so I'll just suffer lol.

Sunset School

Sunset School is further along the path, and was the last places I decided to go for this play session, from what I remember. It's a neat little place to look around, but there's not too much here. Either way, the vibe is nice, and I like the little NPCs you see wandering around. They're really cute. They remind me of axolotls, but they're not really anything all that close.

01/03/2025

Florist Bench

The Florist is another location off of the Gray Road. Honestly, every time I go there, I always go in the same direction, so going somewhere else off the Gray Road is kind of neat. I only went through here very briefly, and didn't get to see everything, but it's pretty neat. The sub area is pretty cool, but it seems like there's all kinds of things hidden in here. One day I'll go back and check it out, but I say that a lot. But I guess that's what happens when you're doing daily & weekly expeditions.

Grafitti Sector

Grafitti Sector was my end destination for this playthrough, and I guess I relaly only took pictures of here and that's it. I don't remember exploring much more of this place. But I think I had also gotten asked to do stuff, so I didn't really think to go in depth. Either way, sometimes having a casual Daily 2kki moment can be fine too.

01/09/2025

Sepia Factory

Sepia Factory is at the end of a small route that starts at the Cipher Keyboard. Honestly, there's not much here. It's covered in traffic cones and signs, so hopefully something will be added in the future. But for now, this is kind of a nice bench, I suppose.

I think this was also part of a daily, to be quite honest.

Dream Route's Present Park

Dream Route is a huge area with a lot of stuff going on all at once. I think there's something in particular that I was hunting down in here, but I can't really remember to be quite honest. I did go through the entire route of Present Park to the Present Amethyst Caves all the way to the end of the Past Amethyst Caves. I remember the puzzle being a bit hard, because I didn't look up a guide when I was doing it, so I did it over and over again. But I suppose stuff like that is kind of fun. Maybe one day I'll be able to go through Past Park.

At the very least, the scenery in the water area is kind of nice.

01/16/2025

Secret Society Head Office

I guess I started taking screencaps of this session pretty deep in. Anyways, this is Secret Society. It's an interesting place, for sure. Has a lot of rooms to explore and definitely feels like it could be used for some sort of event, if the creator ever wanted to make one. The idea of stumbling upon a cult in a dreamworld is honestly a pretty cool concept, so it makes me really hope that whoever made this will add more to it.

Sunset Hill

Sunset Hill is the next connecting point I took from here. It's a really pretty place, to be quite honest. Too bad it feels like just another place to pass through without much to do, but I suppose anywhere that makes you stop, look, and take a few pictures has to be worth something in a game like this.

Moonlit Street Moonlit Street's Piano room

Moonlit Street is further down the path, and it's another area that doesn't really have much to do. However, it sure is pretty. I love the huge moon you can look up at. Makes for some good screencaps, but then again, so does anything else having to do with stars and space, at least in my opinion. You can run into a girl playing a piano here, and I think killing her triggers stuff, but I didn't think to do that. I think I was aiming for somewhere else, so I passed her up for the time being, maybe? I don't remember to be honest. Maybe I did commit a murder and just forgot. What a tragedy if I did...

Sunflower Fields

Sunflower Fields are up next, and based on looking at the route... Yeah, I guess I did commit that murder. lol. Either way, not really sure why I thought to take a picture of here. Well, my grandma likes sunflowers a lot, so perhaps that was the reason to do so. Outside of that, there's not a whole lot here other than sunflowers.

Sunflowers always make me think of Yuuka's theme from TH9 in particular, but then again, she's associated with sunflowers so, makes sense. Other than that, they have pretty tasty seeds.

Autumn Sky

Autumn Sky is probably one of my newest favorite areas, even if it's not all that new these days. Honestly, I can't believe this is the first time I've ever stumbled upon it. The map itself isn't exactly stellar or something, nor is it an amazing connection as the two areas it's connected to aren't exactly anything spectacular. But it has a good vibe, and most of all, I love the music here. Dunno why, but it feels very reminiscent of the same vibes that Oldschool Maplestory has with it's music, even if it's not super close or anything. Still, the music is really nice. It's so nice I added it to my blog's music tracks... which I should update soon because I feel like one of the tracks I put in there really doesn't go with the vibe of my blog. Either way, it reminds me of chilly days spent at old antique stores and the apple orchard that my parents used to like to go to for day trips. I'm reminded of the taste of warm apple cider and stuff just from looking at it.

Eyeberry Orchards

Eyeberry Orchards is the last stop on this path, and well uhhh... Yeah you get what's on the label, that's for sure. Blueberries, eyeballs, and a lot of blue. Honestly, this place has the same vibe as those scented markers from the 90s that would either smell really good or really gross, but were always really strong. Looking at this makes me recall the scent of the blue one especially. Those markers were so overwhelming, to be honest lol. Other than that, there's not much here, other than this bloody couch I found. I made my way back to the nexus back to this though, and went to sleep or something.

Also I just noticed those are eyeballs on the trees and I'm reminded of Starbound. Though that game could easily be an entire article on it's own.

Decrepit Dwellings

Another journey to Decrepit Dwellings. I believe I was chasing a specific thing this time around which is why I came back here. Either way, not much has changed, but I don't remember the NPC looking character sitting on the side on the way out. Which is probably why I took a picture of it. Either way, Rio's worlds are pretty cool.

Tesla Garden

Took a trip to the Tesla Garden, specifically to go unlock another route or something like that from the other side. This place is neat, and there's a lot of stuff here, and I haven't even explored the bulk of it. I did go to the ladders area, and that's pretty cool, even if I didn't end up at the right spot and got completely mixed up at first. Still, one day I should go to the Industrial Waterfront and check that out. Really like the cyan water they got going on in the map. I think when I went, I ended up going to the Neon Sea.

Foliage Estate Exit Foliage Estate Streetlamp

Here's the Foliage Estate once more. This time, I took a different path through here to end up at Azure Garden. The little area on the way out looks really nice, so I decided to take pictures of it.

Maybe I should have grouped these all up, considering they're on different days. I figured that because they're different trips with different dates in the files, I'd just put them on the day I took them, so I just ended up with yet another entry dedicated to this place. Oh well. Come to Foliage Estate, we've got stuff.

Azure Garden Steam Room Hand Arches Forbidden Swamp Azure Gardens Azure Gardens Azure Gardens Crystal Chamber Mushroom Girl

Azure Garden is a really pretty place that is several dreams deep, and well worth the effort to get to. This place is gorgeous. Look at how many pictures I took. The amount of pictures is clearly indicative of how good an area is. Therefore, this one's pretty peak.

Jokes aside, I really enjoyed taking my time to look through this area and experience as much of it as I could. It's gorgeous here, and there's quite a few thing to see. There's multiple statues, as well as a pretty winding map, some random rooms to go into, a swamp at the very end, and a neat "event" of sorts in the form of the Crystal Chamber and the Mushroom Girl. Like, it's not a technical event but you get a pretty full screen illustration that shows at the end for you, so IDK, close enough? IDK, I should probably stop using the term "event" like that when they're not actually classified as such on the wiki.

White Fern World

White Fern World one of those old places in 2kki that has been around forever. I forgot what I went here for, but I decided to go do something more than go along the face path. I think it was for the Tissue effect, to be quite honest. I'm so bad at getting effects. I'm sure I don't even have them all currently, either. Maybe when I finally go back, i should do that.

Either way, I went to the top of the tower and saw the ghost looking thing in the sky. Pretty cool.

Sky Kingdom Dogboa

I don't think I've ever taken any pictures of Sky Kingdom on these blogs, which is weird. Not only is Sky Kingdom ancient, but it's one of my favorite places in the game. There's nothing all that interesting to do here, but the atmosphere is nice, the music is just as nice as well, and it's always pleasant to check out. There's also the infamous Dogboa that you can see off to the side. He's always neat to talk about.

Also, a long time ago, this place used to look way different. It honestly used to remind me of those bonus levels in sonic games with the primary color tiles and what not. But it's changed so much over the years.

Oh, and one last thing: This is another track that's on my music player on this blog.

House of Vases Mountaintop Overlook

House of Vases was a place I found myself going to, in search of opening up a few connecting areas. I think in particular, the place I was seeking out originally was the Thrift Shop, but you have to go around the opposite way to open it up. So I just ended up exploring it and not opening up the Thrift Shop. One of the many "to do list" things for me, I suppose.

At the very least, I got to see the Mountain Overlook, which is pretty neat. I really love the style of art people use in these games, based on ancient Peruvian cultures and what not. It's really cool. One day, I should just look into learning about all of this, because it's really interesting to me, and I really only know very briefly about Aztecs, being from a Mexican family & what not. But I definitely find stuff on Latino cultures interesting.

Outlook Sweet Medical Utopia File Viewer Sniper-san's Room Red Moon at the Outlook

Sweet Medical Utopia is such an awesome area. I love the aesthetic of this place, and it's so neat, and I honestly want to go back and check out everything there is to offer here. I think they added a ton more since I haven't played in quite a bit. When I went, I saw everything there was at the time, or so I believe.

I know people always calling this place the NGO world, and I mean, I guess it has a similar aesthetic and all, but regardless of that it's really cute. The file viewer is super cute, and visiting Sniper-san is neat as well. Also the outlook has the big red moon looking thing which is just visually really interesting. Worth the time to go all the way out to look at it for sure. Peak aesthetic.

01/18/2025

Urotsuki's Room Event

So, this is just the Urotsuki's Room Event. Honestly, this one is pretty old, but I've never activated it until now. So, that was cool to see. I honestly forget what the trigger for it even is, but it was a shock to see it happen about 3 times in a session. I was sitting there like "Uh oh, whatever I've been doing lately in the dreamworld must be getting me in trouble." At some point, maybe I'll finally go get the endings done as well, since I haven't really done those in a long time, if I recall...

Keychain Collection

I went to the Keychain Collection, not too long after it was added. So my screencap still has the old background. I think this place is also very cute. I love the hearts and pills everywhere in this old background. Seeing that they changed it out on the wiki kinda makes me sad, but I guess I can understand why someone would probably want this changed. Either way, the little keychains floating around are super cute. I'll make sure to go there in the future at some point, as there seems to be a bit more content here.

Cloud Haven

Woah, another super cute place with a super cute aesthetic. This is the Cloud Haven. It's not a super big area, and while I don't remember the music that played here, I think it's an absolute vibe either way. I feel like this place is honestly just the absolute embodiment of what this blog's layout is like. Pastel blue, white, stars, and water. Honestly, I think it sums it up perfectly lol. Makes me want to create one of those cliques that's based around picking a 2kki area that fits your website's theme. IDK, would anyone be interested in that? Though, I feel like so many people would just pick Lavender Waters or something lol.

Holographic Chamber Exit

Here's the exit of the Holographic Chamber that leads to the Ether Caverns. Honestly, this place in itself is really nothing all that exciting. The name makes it sound cooler than it is. The music is kind of a vibe, but like, once you turn off the power and head through how it looks without all the hologram panels, it's kind of dull. The real neat stuff is on the outside, I suppose. There's something very ethereal about these transitional screens that lead you to the Ether Caverns, which are honestly, even more ethereal feeling. I didn't grab a screencap of those though, so I won't go in depth about those.

Farewell Residence

Farewell Residence is a glitched up place with a lot of glitched up textures that make houses. There's also fences everywhere. Kind of neat, and reminds me of Glitch City in a way. But other than that, there's nothing to see here, and not much else to do.

I suppose that wrapped up this day's playthrough though, becuase after this, I took a 2 month hiatus from playing 2kki on YNO. I'm pretty sure that's because I wanted to catch up on blogs, but it's whatever.

03/13/2025

Techno Condominium flying event

Anyways, this is the start of a short session, because I remember feeling particularly restless that day. So I just went and played 2kki. On this particular playthrough, I remembered wanting to take a certain route through areas to unlock a wallpaper. So I did that. While I was doing that, I grabbed this shot from the Techno Condominium's flying event. This is pretty similar ot the witch event in Nikki, so I won't go into depth there. And it's also not the only flying event we have in 2kki, as I remember one with an airplane as well. Still, this place takes a while to get to, but I've gotten way faster at getting up to the Techno Condominium, so that must count for something.

Lavender Waters

Another shot of Lavender Waters. This time, it's empty. Either way, getting here was enough to unlock the wallpaper I wanted, so I sat in the chair and finished the dream session.

Cotton Candy Haven Bedroom Dark Bedroom

Next, I went to Cotton Candy Haven. I think I was looking for a particular badge this time around or something, because I know I've been here. Either way, turning off the lights in the room and vibing in the dark is really cute. I love places like this. I love the mini rooms that people put in these games. Even if they're all reminiscent of Poniko's room, they still tend to be really charming. I love how this one pulled off the dark. Instead of being something that could be used against an NPC and become horrifying in a way, this is just something tranquil.

Infinite Library Attic

Final entry in this long journal. Here's a screencap from Infinite Library. Definitely not the first time I've been here either, but I started wandering around in the attic. When I did, I noticed this Urotsuki over on the side. I'm not sure what's going on here, but part of me can't help but wonder if that's just an apparition of her standing there, or if it's something much darker instead...

Kinda scary if it's what I think it is...

Anyways, with all of that done, that's it for my current 2kki logs. I'll probably go back to 2kki at some point soon, because I really wanted to get this done before I started piling up more screencaps again. Sorry this one is so long, and I don't have that much to say about it. It's just me recalling various things I did at certain points in playthroughs. Either way if you ever decide you're interested in 2kki, YNO exists, you don't have to play with an account, and it's free. So go play it. I have links on my links page. Either way, see you all later I suppose.

Ps, May 2026 Vi here but... Hopefully I can gather up my 2kki screencaps soon and put some more in here. It's been a while since I've played admittedly, but I do have a bit of screencaps to add.

back?
