I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I don't see how people read DSOD's ending other than Kaiba essentially accidentally (or even purposefully) killing himself as he strives to physically reach the afterlife all so he can duel. Like, I hate to break it to some people, but there's a reason why we only have imagined portrayals of the afterlife. If we knew what was beyond, everyone would know already.

Normally, I don't really tend to complain about licensed translations, considering they usually get in contact with the original author and figure out how things should be adapted (think the choice of Soul Reaper for Shinigami instead of the literal use of "Death God"). However, stuff like this makes me want to complain. Yes, it's a minor thing, but why would a brother be calling his older brother by their last name rather than just using Seto? Sadly, I feel like a lot of early ViZ translations are unfortunately kinda botched. But I am lazy and will just grab the easiest scans to find. I might seek out the alternate 1P translations if I decide I care enough but like oops it'll be a while before I get to that.
